Rex W. Huggins, Chairman and CEO, has served as Chairman of The Seibels Bruce Group, Inc. since 2007, and was appointed to CEO in June 2015. Rex is a seasoned business entrepreneur who owns and manages a number of family businesses in the southeast. As Chairman and CEO, Rex provides executive leadership for the company’s overall strategic direction and long-term goals, encouraging a “go all in” philosophy that empowers the industry professionals at Seibels to provide best in class services.

In addition to serving as Chairman and CEO, Rex is a member of the Board of Directors of New Holdings, Inc. and subsidiaries, including Gulfstream Property and Casualty Insurance Company.

Rex is a native of Florence, South Carolina. When he is not serving his businesses, he enjoys restoring classic cars and spending time with his wife and three children. Rex is also a loyal supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Seibels’ adopted charity.

As Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Brunson oversees daily operations, achieving profitable growth by ensuring the company’s ability to provide high-quality insurance services and leading technology to the property and casualty industry.

Ms. Brunson is an executive strategist with over thirty years of experience in the insurance and technology industries. Prior to her appointment as Seibels’ COO, she served as Vice President of Business Development for Seibels. Ms. Brunson serves concurrently as CEO of Catawba Insurance Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seibels, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Holdings, Inc., a Seibels’ affiliate.

Laura Spells oversees the Company’s accounting, auditing, finance, and treasury management activities. Ms. Spells also provides statutory financial reporting to the various departments of insurance, as well as financial reporting to management, the Board of Directors, and shareholders. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Spells served as Controller since joining Seibels in 2021.

Ms. Spells is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, degrees from Georgia Southern University.

Mike Gilmer

Mike Gilmer is responsible for providing oversight and management of the operational areas of the Company’s Claims Department, including the catastrophe program and litigation.

Before joining Seibels, Mr. Gilmer served as Vice President of Claims and a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Gulfstream Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Additionally, Mr. Gilmer held prior claims management positions with Citizens Property Insurance Company, Assurant Specialty Property, and Nationwide, where he launched and managed his own agency.

Mr. Gilmer holds a Bachelor of Science from East Tennessee State University.

As Vice President of Compliance and Underwriting, Ms. Reid manages the Company’s Customer Service and Underwriting Departments. Additionally, Ms. Reid leads all internal compliance and audit initiatives. Previously, she served as  Director, Compliance and Underwriting.

Prior to joining Seibels, Ms. Reid spent over a decade with Team Focus Insurance Group where she developed top tier Customer Service and Underwriting Teams for two clients and managed the three highest volume clients within the company. Ms. Reid has over twenty years experience in the insurance industry which began in customer service and policy processing with a Florida-based agency.

Jerry Campanaro

Jerry Campanaro leads Company’s overall sales growth strategy, with particular focus on expanding into new markets through full Business Process Outsourcing Solutions, and unbundled TPA Services. Additionally, he oversees Account Management where he is responsible for client onboarding and engagement.

Mr. Campanaro brings more than two decades experience leading successful sales teams, including the last eight years with a national insurance company where he served as a Regional Leader. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he received a Bachelors of Science in Economics. Additionally, he also oversees Account Management where he is responsible for client engagement.

Jim Brophy

Since joining Seibels in 2017, Mr. Brophy established the Pricing Department where he introduced measures aimed to properly price Seibels’ service offerings and implemented best practices and procedures for selecting and managing vendor partnerships. Additionally, he plays a key role in modeling and establishing new fee-based pricing structures for Seibels’ clients.

Prior to joining Seibels, Mr. Brophy served in senior financial analyst positions with Commercial Metals Company in Cayce, SC, and with Pure Power Technologies of Blythewood, SC. In both posts, Mr. Brophy drove continuous improvement to planning, forecasting and reporting of business operations. 

Mr. Brophy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from Loras College where he was a two-time NCAA All-American Wrestler. Additionally, he received his M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.

Sree Putta

Assistant Vice President, Product Implementation

Sree Putta oversees Seibels’ speed-to-market strategies through product implementation, delivering digital transformation that allows clients to maximize opportunities and reduce risk through managed costs.  

Mr. Putta brings over two decades of experience working in the property & casualty insurance industry in a variety of roles. He served at CGI, a global information technology consultancy, as P&C Insurance Products Practice & Delivery Head and at HCL Technologies as Global Guidewire CoE Head. In both positions, Mr. Putta led and managed Guidewire’s product implementations and technology transformation, explicitly focusing on innovating service delivery and automating data integration.

Mr. Putta was awarded a University Gold Medal in Master of Technology from Mysore University and a Bachelor of Technology from Bapatla Engineering College. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA).
