When you are the continuous owner of Post Office Box Number 1 in one of the most historic cities in the southern United States, the word “legacy” has special meaning.
The race to space, wars, great inventions, hurricanes and all kinds of natural disasters: Seibels has seen it all, endured and thrived. With Columbia, South Carolina as its base, Seibels has been a fixture in the southeastern United States for over 145 years. Our legacy of innovation begins with Edwin Seibels’ invention of the vertical file cabinet. In the 1960s, Seibels offered one of the first software and information service solutions to property/casualty and life insurance companies so they could manage client policies. That tradition of innovation continues today with our best-in-class insurance services.
In partnership with local organizations and schools, the company has maintained a long-standing intern-trainee program. At the other end of the spectrum, numerous former employees have returned to the company years later and are welcomed back as members of the “Boomerang Club.” Their deep knowledge of the insurance industry is a vital resource to the company. Many Seibels people have been with the company 30 or more years. We are a thoroughly modern company with a broad, wide-ranging employee base.
