SEIBELS SPOTLIGHT Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall
Cyber Security Update

Seibels has engaged the auditing firm, Dixon Hughes, to increase its rating from SOC1 (SSAE16) to SOC2. SOC, or the Service Organization Control Report, is used widely in the financial services industry as well as other industries to provide users with valuable information needed to assess and address risks associated with an outsourced service. To achieve a higher SOC status, a company has to undergo more stringent requirements and auditing.

In order to reach the SOC2 level, Seibels has engaged outside IT service firms to analyze internal security, network security and cyber security. Seibels has also relocated its primary computer processing center to a major telecom colocation facility. The prior center has been retained for testing and development purposes, and will be used as a High Availability backup site.

Giving Back to the Community

Giving back to the community on a local and national level is of the utmost importance at Seibels. Did you know Seibels was named the 6th highest corporate fundraising team in the nation for the 2016 Great Strides Campaign supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation?

Seibels also recently launched a Charitable Giving Program. Recent financial contributions include $10,000 to the Trusted Choice Disaster Relief Fund, which is available to assist IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America) members and their staff in the event of unrecoverable losses due to a natural or man-made disaster, including the recent flooding in Louisiana, $1,000 to Oliver Gospel Mission’s “Hope for the Homeless,” & $500 to the Richland County Sheriff's Foundation.
